Pretty soft pink swirl design dresser box by Wavecrest ... gold trim with snap closure, delicate hand-painted florals on top. Measures 4-1/2" diameter x 3" high and is in perfect condition! Unsigned but most definitely a Wavecrest piece.

|
In my opinion, Wavecrest made some of the most beautiful art glass of the turn-of-the-century era. The delicacy of the hand-painted florals and softness of the design just hasn't ever been duplicated. This particular piece is an open dresser dish for hairpins or jewelry or any small trinkets you might wish to store inside. The rich gold ormulu trim flows into two filigree openwork handles. Piece is in perfect condition and bears the Wavecrest mark on the base. Measures 3-1/2" diameter x 1-5/8" high.

This beautiful aqua covered butter dish came from a large collection of early milk glass. There was still an original tag on it from when the owner purchased it from another antique store in 1957 for $79.50. Supposedly dates from the 1890's ... will try to determine manufacturer (could be Atterbury or Westmoreland)..

From a local estate where most everything dated from the late 1800's and early 1900's, this beautiful pair of art glass vases are mirror images of one another. The floral decoration is done in hand-applied enamel and is in perfect condition. Colors in the glass range from deep purple, cobalt and rose to green and blue. Pictures could not do them justice! Top rims are enameled in white. No chips or damage or any kind; however, there is a tiny mark which may be a glaze miss on the back side of one about 3/16" (see view of mark). Each vase measures 8-3/4" tall.
|
Not sure of the age of this piece, but we do know that it is quite old. We purchased it from the same estate as the art glass vases above. The bowl is cased and the outer glass is a deep topaz color. Interior shows bright splashes of color. Polished rim has two very, very tiny flea bites on the underside that are not visible from the top and really only detectable when running your finger around the edge. The glass itself is as soft as velvet. Measures 3-3/4" high x 6-3/4" diameter at top rim. Featured in "Glass A - Z" by David Shotwell, pg. 160.

Sweet little art nouveau period vase from the same estate as the above pieces. Classic shape with rich gold embellishment. At the bottom of each of the three 'drips' is a tiny raised opalescent bead. Design is different on each side (see second picture). In perfect condition, no mark, measures 3-1/2" tall x 3" wide at mid section. Featured in "Glass A - Z" by David Shotwell, pg. 20. |
This lovely end-of-day vase is just beautiful with splashes of bright green, red, orange and yellow on a soft white background. Velvety smooth finish in a classic shape. No mark, 7-3/4" tall, in perfect condition!

This is quite an elegant piece made by Moser ... a Cameo design centerpiece bowl with gold encrusted Roman warriors surrounding the outside. The glass is a tinted bluish/purple color that can look different colors depending on the lighting. Bullseye dots are spaced equally around the rim and the polished top is gilded in gold. The base of the bowl is scallop-cut all the way around and has a flat polished bottom. Original Moser gold foil label is still affixed to outside of bowl. Measures 7-1/4" diameter x 4-1/2" tall. In perfect condition!

This pair of crystal tumblers are examples of early Mary Gregory. They measure 3-3/4" high and 2-1/8" diameter at the top rim. The enameling is beautifully done in relief and embellished with a pale coral tint. There is a little boy and a little girl facing each other, one on each glass. The glass is very fine and delicate with no markings that I could find. The little girl is mint; the little boy has one very teeny speck of a chip on the rim ... really too small to even call a chip ... about 1/32" if that. It is so rare to find a matched set of early Mary Gregory such as these! |
This is a beautiful Bristol glass two-piece vanity jar with a bud vase on the top. The flowers on the side are all hand-painted in lovely shades of blue, white and rust on opaline background. Measures 9" tall and has pontil bottom on lid portion. Featured in "Glass A - Z" by David Shotwell, pg. 582.

Gorgeous green swirl on white puff box done from one piece of glass ... note how pattern matches from lid to base. The crystal knob on top has an emerald green center (hard to see in small picture). It is in perfect condition with no cracks or chips. Czech mark on base.

This superb vase is a rich cobalt blue on the outside and cased in white on the inside. The unusual top has one tip straight up and one folded downward. It is a stunning piece and in mint condition! Measures a majestic 15" to tip.
|
This unusual art glass vase is in a satin glass finish with mauve background and blue circular designs in an all-over pattern. It is not marked, but is probably Czech. Measures 7-3/4" high.
|
Here we have a lovely peach vase with crystal applied handles. The exterior is a striped dark and light peach cased in crystal. Top of rim is crimped in a ruffled effect. Stands 8-1/2" high.
|
Very pretty pale pink vase in swirling designs, hand blown. Stands 7-1/2" tall. In mint condition!

CUT VELVET DIAMOND OPALESCENT VASE Here is a very pretty little pale peach Cut Velvet diamond quilted satin vase. It is cased with white on the inside, and has an 8-petal scalloped rim. The bulbous base closes to a narrow neck which tapers to a wider ring and then a flared, scalloped rim. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks at all. This glass form was done by an acid-etching which left the glass feeling "velvety" smooth, hence the name Cut Velvet. From a local estate where the person collected Tiffany and early better glass, this piece is circa 1870-1900. Featured in "Glass A - Z" by David Shotwell, pg. 123.

LOETZ VASE This lovely Loetz vase is all original and has a beautiful metalworked vine with leaves in Art Nouveau styling encasing the glass. The color is a gorgeous deep green with iridescent 'oil' marks all thru the glass. Pontil mark on bottom, excellent condition except for small flake at edge of pontil mark (see pic). Measures 18-1/4" tall at highest point; base is 6-3/4" diameter at widest point. Vase itself measures 14" tall. A real beauty! Featured in "Glass A - Z" by David Shotwell, pg. 305.

PEACHBLOW VASE WITH CRIMPED RIM This is a breathtaking Peachblow vase! The color shades from a creamy white at the base to a rich peach color at the flared rim, and the applied handles are ribbed satin crystal. The inside is cased in white, and there is a crystal double-crimped rim all around the top. What makes it especially beautiful is the way the top is shaped . . . three large crimps give the vase an assymetrical appearance from both sides. Dating from turn-of-the-century, the vase is is MINT condition with no chips or cracks or damage of any type. Stands 12" tall. Featured in "Glass A - Z" by David Shotwell, pg. 413.

TIFFIN COPEN BLUE VASE Beautiful Tiffin vase with open rose decoration. Made between 1941 and 1949, Tiffin called this their "sand carved" line. A pattern was cut into a rubber material which surrounded the glass. A mini sand blaster was then used to cut or carve the design into the exposed glass, resulting in a deeply carved 3-dimensional design. This particular vase is called Swedish Optic, and the carving is an Open Petal Rose. What makes this one extraordinarly lovely is the soft blue color (called Copen Blue) of the glass offset by a crystal ball connector. Measures 12-3/4" high, it is in mint condition. Featured in "Glass A - Z" by David Shotwell, pg. 564.
